Celebrate Lincolnshires rich local history with the first Lincolnshire Libraries Local History Festival, hosting a variety of talks and exhibitions within Boston library throughout May.

Events:

  • History of Gosberton: 6th - 10th May, 9:00am - 5:00pm

    Members of the Gosberton & District History Society will showcase a display of historic pictures from Gosberton's past and other local villages.
  • Boston History Tours: 19th & 20th May, 10:00am

    Come along and have a chat with well-known Boston tour guide and travel writer Jane Keightley.
  • Boston and the Medieval Hanseatic League: 20th May, 2:00pm - 3:00pm

    Join Jane Keightley for an informative and fascinating talk about Boston’s connection to the Hanseatic League, Northern Europe’s trading and defensive network. Find out what made Boston the second largest port in England at this time and what made it so wealthy. Jane will also discuss the creation of the New Hanse.
