Batemans Brewery Visitors Centre

Established in 1874, Batemans is an independent family brewery, with the fourth generation at the helm and the fifth generation already very involved.

Batemans brew award-winning draught and bottled beers that can be found in their own pubs, scattered throughout Lincolnshire, plus various free houses.

Based in Wainfleet, the Batemans Brewery has a Visitors Centre which is open for Brewery Tours, events and private parties.

The tours are one of the best brewery tours and tutored tastings in the country. The tour guides are knowledgeable, insightful and full of amusing tales, making the tour interesting, entertaining and fun – enjoyable for both beer lovers and those who are shortly to be converted.

The tour starts in Mr George's Windmill bar before going upstairs to the artefacts room where the guide will give a short talk on the history of Batemans Brewery and the interesting past. This is followed by tours of the Victorian Brewhouse and the ‘Theatre of Beers’ built in 2002.

Visitors have the opportunity to taste the raw materials and the beer at varying stages of the brewing process. The tours are ‘touchy-feely’ with an emphasis on humour and stories about the people that have made Batemans what it is today.

The tour culminates in an impressive tutored tasting in the sample cellars, where there is ample opportunity to try the current draught beers being brewed.

The tour either finishes in the brewery or back in the windmill bar next to the Brewery Shop, where you will find various articles of Batemans merchandise and the full range of Batemans bottled beers. The shop is open from Monday - Friday 2pm - 4pm.

Accommodation

In the paddock next to Batemans Brewery, there is a caravan site with 19 hookups which opens from 15 March to the end of October.

Next to the Brewery is a large family house with a hot tub and swimming that can be rented throughout the year
