About

A short 15-minute drive outside of Boston’s town centre is Havenside Country Park that overlooks The Haven - a magnificent salt-water section of the river Witham leading out to sea.

At high tide you will often be able to watch ocean-going ships coming in or out of the Port of Boston or the shell fishing fleet coming in or going out to their fishing grounds in The Wash.

The Park’s location makes it the perfect place for a peaceful walk, away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. With open skies and views of the Stump and The Wash, it’s definitely a place not to miss.

The Parks’ jewel in the crown is the Pilgrim Father’s Memorial which commemorates the Pilgrim Father’s attempt at religious freedom. Steeped in local history, it’s a must-see for anyone interested in exploring Boston’s rich history.

The country park is also home to ‘Horizon’, an engaging structure built as part of a series of installations along the Lincolnshire coast known as ‘Structures on the Edge’ which promote developing artwork and coastal architecture. Horizon explores themes of nautical navigation by allowing visitors to imagine journeys into the unknown and beyond the horizon, as the Pilgrim Fathers once did.

Havenside Country Park has a dedicated car park at the end of Scalp Road just beyond the village of Fishtoft. The park can be easily accessed by following the brown signs for Pilgrim Father’s Memorial.
